Mainframe computer are big, expensive computers used mainly by governement institutes or large companies. Usely used for bulk and large data processing and financial processing, and even weather forecasting.
The term mainframe originated in 1970s with a smaller more compact computer.
A personal computer is that a (PC) is a small, inexpensive computer designed for individual use. Prices of PC computers range from a few hundreds to a couple of thousand dollars. Personal computers first originated in the late 1970s. The first personal computer introduced was the Apple II.
